Thelo Aasgaard is a 24-year-old attacking midfielder for Scottish champions Rangers, born and raised in Liverpool to a Norwegian father and French mother, both professional cellists. After a long climb through Wigan Athletic and a brief stint at Luton Town, he joined Rangers in July 2025 and became a Norway international, providing creativity behind Erling Haaland in Ståle Solbakken's World Cup squad. His defining moment came on 9 September 2025, when he came off the bench against Moldova and scored four goals in Norway's 11-1 rout — a Norwegian record for most goals by a substitute in a single match. Per Store norske leksikon, he chose Norway despite never having lived there and being eligible for France, England and Scotland as well.
