Sadio Mané
Senegal's all-time leading scorer and enduring talisman, Mané is the spiritual leader of this squad. After Metz, Salzburg and Southampton, he became a global star at Liverpool (2016–22), where his front three with Salah and Firmino won the 2019 Champions League and 2020 Premier League. A year at Bayern preceded his 2023 move to Al-Nassr. For Senegal he is forever the AFCON 2021 hero: having missed a 7th-minute penalty in the final, he buried the winning spot-kick in the shootout against Egypt to deliver the nation's first-ever continental title, and was named Player of the Tournament. He started on the left vs France at this World Cup, almost certainly his last. In 2025/26 he scored 10 Saudi Pro League goals (6 assists) in 25 games. A revered figure who has funded a hospital and school in his home village of Bambali.
