Patrick Berg
Patrick Berg is the metronomic defensive midfielder and captain of Bodø/Glimt, and in Norway's setup he forms the holding platform alongside Sander Berge that frees Martin Ødegaard to push forward and feed Erling Haaland. A boyhood Glimt man, he captained the northern club to its historic first-ever Eliteserien title in 2020, won Player of the Year in 2021 and again in 2025, had a brief, frustrating six-month spell at RC Lens in Ligue 1, then returned home to win further championships and make the 2024-25 Europa League Team of the Season. The juicy detail: Berg is the heart of Norwegian football's most famous dynasty — grandfather Harald, father Ørjan and uncles Arild and Runar all played for both Bodø/Glimt and Norway, making Patrick the country's first-ever third-generation international.
