Krépin Diatta
One of Senegal's most versatile players, Krépin Diatta began as an explosive winger and has reinvented himself as a dependable right-back for both Monaco and the national team. Dakar-born, he broke through at Norway's Sarpsborg 08 before starring for Club Brugge, where he was named Best Young Player of the 2019 AFCON. Since 2021 he has been a Monaco regular across more than 100 league games, prized for his energy down the flank in either direction. Diatta was part of Senegal's 2021 AFCON-winning squad and played at the 2022 World Cup, the 2023 AFCON and the 2025 AFCON (runner-up), amassing 62 caps and 2 goals. Deployed at right-back in Pape Thiaw's 4-3-3, he started against France on 16 June 2026. His ability to defend and contribute in attack — providing width and overlapping runs — makes him a tactical asset, even amid recurring questions over his Monaco future.
