Ibrahim Mbaye
The breakout teenager of Senegal's tournament. Born in Trappes near Paris, Mbaye rose through the PSG academy to become one of the club's youngest-ever Ligue 1 players, and broke into the Senegal senior side in November 2025. Against France he came off the bench and, in the 90'+5', beat Théo Hernández with step-overs before finishing past Maignan for Senegal's consolation in a 3-1 defeat — making him, by several accounts, the youngest African scorer in World Cup history at 18, surpassing compatriot Moussa Wagué (2018). A direct, quick-footed winger comfortable on either flank, he represents Senegal's future and is pushing for a start against Norway. Coach Pape Thiaw after the France loss: "We could have led 2-0... collectively, we were too passive."
