Fredrik André Bjørkan is a left-back for Bodø/Glimt and a depth full-back option in Ståle Solbakken's Norway squad at their first World Cup since 1998. A Bodø native and academy product, he debuted for Glimt at 17 and won four Eliteserien titles before a 2021 move to Hertha BSC that flopped (just nine Bundesliga games) and an even quieter loan to Feyenoord (one Eredivisie appearance); he returned to Glimt in January 2023 and rebuilt his career, helping the club to its European breakthrough. There is a strong family thread at the club: his father Aasmund Bjørkan, himself a former Glimt player, now works as the club's chief analyst. He earned his Norway debut against Greece in June 2021 and has 21 caps with one goal.
